Join Broadgate’s Fitness First team for Abs (10-10.30am), Viper (10.45-11.15am) and tabata™ (11.30am-12pm), three workout classes which offer maximum impact with minimum time spent at the gym.

Abs (10.00 – 10.30)
Fitness First’s Abs class works the trunk of the body, improving core stability and balance techniques to help maintain healthy postural alignment and spinal stability, while sculpting the abdominals and waistline. Email BroadgateHFM@fitnessfirst.com to book a place. 

ViPR (10.45 – 11.15)
ViPR classes are designed to push you outside your comfort zone. Focusing on functional movements to target all the major muscle groups and give you a good workout.

ViPR classes use a rubber tube to mimic the utility of seven tools: barbell, dumbbell, Kettlebell, stability ball, medicine ball, balance device and speed ladder. ViPR stands for vitality, performance and reconditioning. Each exercise focuses on one of these goals, combining all three makes for a great workout! Key benefits of a ViPR workout include, increased calorie burn, strength building, a full body work out and improvements in movement and coordination. Tabata (11.30 – 12.00)
tabata™ is fast becoming the most popular form of High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) in the world amongst both professional athletes and enthusiastic amateurs.

The official tabata™ method was developed by renowned Japanese scientist Professor Izumi Tabata (recognized as the ‘father’ of HIIT), whilst he was working with the Japanese Olympic speed skating team on their fitness programme. He discovered that short sharp bursts of intense exercise are the best way to get fit fast and effectively. His tabata™ method consists of a combination of 20 seconds of intense exercise, followed by 10 seconds of rest to a rotation that lasts just 4 minutes. The tabata™ method has been scientifically proven to be the most effective way to increase both aerobic and anaerobic fitness.

Fitness First’s instructors have worked with a highly qualified tabata™ master trainer to ensure they are fully equipped to deliver their 20 minute class. The workouts feature dynamic new moves that have a heart-pumping effect at their core, which aims to get participants up to their maximum heart rate over the crucial four-minute tabata™ rotation. Fitness First have kindly offered all participants access to their shower and changing facilities. 

In the event of bad weather, classes will take place in the Fitness First studio.
