ASDA StreetVelodrome Series Super Final

The World’s only pop-up Street Velodrome returns to Broadgate in Exchange Square on Wednesday 12th and Thursday 13th August for two days of competitive track cycling.

Following six regional heats across the UK, watch the series’ best amateur riders join the pros to compete for the Series Titles. Better still – you can be part of the action.

Come and try track cycling, test your speed in a qualifying session or simply spectate to see some of the UK’s biggest cycling stars race in the televised Super Final. It’s free to take part and free to spectate.

Wednesday 12 August – Broadgate Race Day

10.00am-1.00pm: Open Session
Try track cycling for free with coaching from one of the StreetVelodrome team’s pro cyclists. Sessions last approximately 15 minutes and include all equipment. Participants should wear training shoes. No booking required but places will be allocated on a first come first served basis. To avoid disappointment or book a particular time, register your interest at the booking desk from 9.30am to reserve a place. 

1.00-3.00pm: Broadgate Guest Team Competition coaching and practice
Are you and your colleagues mad about cycling? Enter a team to the Broadgate Guest Team Competition to have a chance of competing in the televised ASDA StreetVelodrome Super Final against the series’ best qualifying amateurs and professionals. We’re looking for six companies to find a mixed team (two male / two female) to take part. All equipment included and competitors will receive extensive pro-rider coaching ahead of the competition later in the evening (see below). 3.00-6.00pm: Open Session

6.00-7.30pm: Broadgate Guest Team Competition
See six local companies take part in the StreetVelodrome knockout tournament. The winning team will be invited to compete as the Guest Team alongside the series’ best amateur riders and professional cyclists in the televised Super Final on Thursday 13 August. Thursday 13 August – Super Final Race Day


10.00am-2.00pm: Amateur Rider Qualification Session
Want to compete against the series’ best qualifying riders and professional cyclists in the ASDA StreetVelodrome Super Final? Register between 10am and 1pm before completing a two lap time trial. The fastest male and female will qualify for the Broadgate Wildcards in the evening’s races. 

2.00pm-5.00pm: Open Session
Try track cycling for free with coaching from one of the StreetVelodrome team’s pro cyclists. Sessions last approximately 15 minutes and include all equipment. Participants should wear training shoes. No booking required but places will be allocated on a first come first served basis. To avoid disappointment or book a particular time, register your interest at the booking desk from 10am to reserve a place. 

5.00-6.00pm: Pro Team Practice Sessions 
See the StreetVelodrome Pro Teams with their qualifying amateur riders and the qualifying Broadgate Guest Team prepare for the main event. 

6.00-8.00pm: ASDA StreetVelodrome Series Super Final 
Following six regional heats, a guest competition and Wildcard qualifiers – this is the Super Final. See some of the UK’s best professional cyclists – Craig Maclean MBE, Anna Glowinski, Dave Johnson, Jess Stone, Kelli Salone and many more battle for the Pro Titles. Races are won or lost by 100ths. So as the riders are going all out to win overall victory in the Series, the smallest of mistakes will make the difference between winning or losing.
