A 24-hour Sing-a-Thon for charity

If your inner pop-star is seeking some airtime, or maybe you know someone who rocks a karaoke mic, Janus Henderson (a company based in one of our buildings) needs you!

Janus Henderson are hosting a 24-hour Sing-a-Thon in Exchange Square to raise money for Great Ormond Street Hospital. The event launches at midday on Wednesday 8 May and will run, non-stop, until Thursday 9 May. International Janus Henderson teams will be taking part via a live link, reaching as far as the US, Asia and Australia to keep the singing going through the night. However, they're still looking for volunteers to book singing slots to keep the tunes and donations rolling in across the event. Alongside the continous karaoke, there'll be food stalls offering up delicious burgers and your favourite tipples, a raffle and much more throughout the day.

So how can you get involved?

Whether you work for another business based at Broadgate or simply want to turn up and take part, you can book yourself, your team or nominate a friend, family member or colleague to sing for 15 minutes on the day. Options include but are not limited to:

  1. Sponsor a power hour
Bring your team along, take over the stage, have your logo on loop and sing your hearts out
  2. Become a sponsor
Have your company logo appear on branding throughout the event
  3. Not a singer?
Make a donation through their donation page
  4. Support on the day
Drop into their event and enjoy a drink with the Janus Henderson team

About Great Ormond Street Hospital

Every day brings new challenges at Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH). Every day, 619 children and young people from across the UK arrive for life-changing treatments. Every day, young lives hang in the balance as patients, families and staff battle the most complex illnesses. Every day, the brightest minds come together to achieve pioneering medical breakthroughs that change the lives of thousands of children – and change the world. Despite the greatest challenges a child can face, the hospital is a place where being sick does not always mean being sad. And it’s a place where you’ll find – today and every day – some of the bravest people you could ever meet. This extraordinary hospital has always depended on charitable support, and every day is a chance for you to make a difference.

Great Ormond Street Hospital Children's Charity supports the hospital and its patients by funding four key areas:

  • Life-saving medical equipment
  • Research into children's health
  • Support for families and children
  • Rebuilding and refurbishment

CASCAID brings together colleagues from around the asset management industry (and friends and family) to raise money for charity. After a successful 2017, when CASCAID raised over £2.35 million for CRUK, CASCAID is now fundraising for Great Ormond Street Hospital. CASCAID is led by our Ambassadors – individuals who undertake challenges, organise events and galvanise others to raise money. Fundraising events are on an individual basis, within teams, on a company level and across the industry.
CASCAID aims to get lots of people supporting this amazing charity in lots of different ways. Our aim is to build a new cardiac catheter lab for GOSH – their current one is not fit for purpose. CASCAID is inclusive – everyone is welcome. It’s not a corporate cheque-writing exercise (although corporate donations are very welcome!). It’s about ordinary people rolling their sleeves up, giving time and effort for great causes.
