In the second of our programme of talks, we are bringing together leaders in the field to examine the potential of blockchain technology, beyond bitcoin to see if this is a viable model for future business.
Our panel will be chaired by Katherine Templar Lewis, educator, journalist and science presenter, known for her exploration of the interesection of technology, art, science and society.
Katherine will be joined by Richard Harries, CEO of Cofndrs (previously Salt Exchange), a new financial ecosystem designed to shake up the financial industry. Salt Exchange is building a completely new kind of currency backed by products and services.
Head of Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Alastair Moore sits on the faculty board of the new Center for Blockchain Technology at UCL, bringing ten years experience to the panel and a focus now looking at new applications for Fintech technologies.
Also adding to our panel of experts will be Simon Taylor, Co-Founder and Blockchain Practice Lead for 11:FS, winners of Consultancy Firm of The Year 2019 at the British Banking Awards. At 11:FS, Simon advises governments, regulators and some of the world's largest banks, financial institutions and corporations on how Fintech, blockchain and DLT will impact their business in the short, medium and long term. Previous to this, Simon led Blockchain Research & Development at Barclays when it became the first bank in the world to perform a live trade finance tranaction over a blockchain/DLT with a real customer.
Completing the panel is Duane Holland, name 'Agent for Change' in the BIMA 100 of UK digital influencers for creating a dialogue between the creative industry and academia, as well as for his work in accelerating original insight from emerging tech, science and culture into contemporary brand storytelling.
