2.5 billion coffee cups are thrown away each year in the UK ending up in landfill while 99% of coffee cups can’t be recycled due to their mix of plastic and paper.
On Monday 18 June until Friday 22 June, we want to change this with the amazing Broadgate Recycling Challenge. Across the neighbourhood all week, we’ll be collecting all types of plastic (from bottles to coffee cups) and then taking them to a specialist recycling plant where they can be turned into sustainable stationery.
It’s time to get involved! Just drop your plastic off at the following locations:
Fulcrum, Monday 18 June
Broadgate Plaza, Tuesday 19 June
Finsbury Avenue Square, Wednesday 20 June
Bishopsgate, Thursday 21 June
Exchange Square, Friday 22 June
Make a change
You can do your bit by investing in a sustainable coffee cup (Pret will give you 50p off your coffee while Eat are offering 25p off) while the arrival of the Refill scheme at Broadgate means you can fill up reusable water bottles at cafes and restaurants across the neighbourhood. Let’s go plastic free!
