Growing up lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (LGBTQ+) is still really tough: an alarming 86% of young people hear homophobic remarks and 25% attempt suicide. These challenges continue beyond school with 6 in 10 graduates returning to the closet in their first job.
This is why, in June and July, Broadgate is supporting the young people’s LGBTQ+ charity Just Like Us and their Rainbow Ribbon Campaign with ribbons available for a small donation at receptions across the Broadgate neighbourhood and all of our team proudly wearing them in support for LGBTQ+ people and raising money for Just Like Us to challenge homophobia, biphobia and transphobia in school and the workplace. To make things even easier, we've set up a donation page so you can donate to Just Like Us, via Broadgate, online. Click here to donate.
To continue the Pride celebrations (it's Pride's jubilee this year so click here for its history), we've added Pride rainbows to Exchange Square, Broadgate Circle and Sun Street Passage to show our support and brighten up the neighbourhood. During London Pride Week (week commencing 1 July), we'll also be bringing a Pride party to Broadgate with live performances from some of London's favourite buskers:
3 July - Chasing Deer (6-8pm)
An exclusive preview for Broadgate, Chasing Deer will be performing the following weekend at London Pride Parade in Trafalgar Square!
4 July - Divided Soul (6-8pm)
A favourite of ours, and yours, Divided Soul will return to liven up your evening with friends and colleagues.
Also, don't miss The Glitter Box Girls, who will be roaming Exchange Square and Broadgate Circle, 6-9pm, adorning faces with beautiful designs for a donation to Just Like Us.
5 July - Jazz Mino (6-8pm)
Jazz Mino's latest single recieved over 6 million streams on Spotify, after being spotted by the streaming platforms Head of Music who went on to champion the group.
Finally, we want you to share your Pride photos with us across social and we’ll be featuring some incredible shots and video from the campaign.

About Just Like Us
Just Like Us was launched because growing up LGBT+ is still one of the most challenging experiences a young person can face. The charity ensures young people hear powerful positive messages from other LGBT+ voices by building a national network of university student volunteers who are given the skills they need to communicate with impact. The charity then sends them into secondary schools to share their stories, bust stereotypes and explain why LGBT+ equality is everyone's issue.
Their national initiative, School Diversity Week empowers teachers and pupils to tackle homophobic, biphobic and transphobic bullying by organising activities that celebrate the value of LGBT+ equality in education.
Just Like Us Ambassadors have worked with 18,000 school students, and more than 250,000 teachers and pupils celebrated School Diversity Week 2017. This short video shares the voices of the people who matter most: the teachers and young people they work with.
Supporting the Rainbow Ribbon Campaign enables Just Like Us to transform the lives of LGBT+ young people in schools, builds your reputation as an inclusive employer and ensures your LGBT+ employees to bring their whole self to work.

· 1 in 2 15-34-year-olds have hidden or disguised that they're LGBT at work because they were afraid of discrimination.
· 3 in 5 LGBT staff say that senior managers in their workplace do not show visible commitment.
