From Saturday 14th to Thursday 19th March, Guildhall Live Events will be hosting a brand-new, immersive performance experience at The Space | 3FA. Free to occupiers, step into a project that will combine cutting-edge digital technology and musical performance.
Exploring themes of mindfulness, consciousness, imagination and playfulness, the work seeks to offer the audience the opportunity to relax and enjoy an elegant visual display produced by their own physical responses to listening to the music.
In the centre of a bespoke sculptural 3D environment inspired by Botticelli’s The Birth of Venus, a solo harpist plays classical repertoire which gradually evolves into improvisation.
As the audience listen, data from biometric sensors measures their brainwaves, heart-rate and temperature – data which is then used to generate real-time video projection mapping and spatial lighting sequences that illuminate the performance space.
The experience is inspired by the eternal pursuit of reconciliation of the physical and spiritual duality of human existence. At a time when we are increasingly distracted by the material world and ever-evolving digital landscape, this is a chance for people to reconnect with their inner sense of self and their connection to others.
