Want to try something new? Here’s the lowdown on the city’s must-visit food and drink delights.
Dine under the stars at London’s coolest outdoor spot
This summer, Paddington becomes home to Pergola Paddington Central, the sister site to White City’s much-loved Pergola on the Roof. Its communal seating area will host up to 850 guests, for lunch and dinner, seven days a week.
As well as Patty & Bun, whose burgers have become a legendary London fixture, Pergola Paddington Central will host west-London debuts of four restaurants: Malamam (serving authentic, handmade dumplings, noodle soups and street snacks from the heart of Bejing), DF/Mexico (an East Coast-style diner with an experimental menu of American and Mexican fast food), Decatur (specialists in the distinct Louisiana-style) and Raw Press (who offer a selection of healthy vegan, gluten free salads and juices).
Embrace dim sim and cocktail night on Thursdays
Ever been to Yauatcha City’s terrace on sunny evening? If not you really really should. And on Thursdays throughout the summer months, they’ll be hosting a resident DJ mixing laid-back music and free-flowing dim sum from 5.30pm until 7.30pm along with one of London’s best cocktail menus.
Learn your French wines
From Monday 12 to Friday 16 June, the Bordeaux Butterfly Bar pop-up is heading to Finsbury Avenue Square serving glorious wines by the glass and carafe as well as hosting tasting flights, menu pairing with Claw, Wolf and Yolk and bringing their own boules piste. Bon apetit!
Head to London’s prettiest park… and then for a drink or two
Regent’s Park on a summer’s evening is possibly one of the most beautiful places on the planet. So go for a post-work wonder then head across the road the acclaimed Refinery at Regent’s Place for summer sounds and cocktails. Every Thursday and Friday from 7pm, this much-loved bar and eaterie will be playing laid-back sounds while serving gin-based Duck & Covers in a tin tub complete with miniature rubber duck.
