5 ways to make the most of London Cocktail Week

From Monday 3 October, London Cocktail Week arrives in the capital - with over 200 bars serving £5 cocktails (with the festival pass), events and tours. So here, to make your life easy, we’ve put together five ways to make the most of LCW while taking in some of London’s best art, culture, live music and food.

1. Mix cocktails, art and architecture (Monday 3-Sunday 9 October)

Some of Broadgate’s finest foodie destinations will be taking part in LCW including Jose Pizarro, Comptoir Libanais, Aubaine, Beany Green, Shoryu Ramen, Gaucho, Street Kitchen and The Soda Room at The Botanist and each will be serving a snack to match their cocktail.

As you uncover the foodie destinations, we recommend a route around some of the best public art in the UK. You’ll also come across our Light Cubes dotted across Broadgate which each tell the story of the design ideas that went into Broadgate’s most iconic buildings.

2. Discover east London’s finest (Monday 3-Sunday 9 October)

Based just over the road from Broadgate, the LCW Cocktail Village will be taking over Old Spitalfields Market. Visitors can explore a maze of bespoke pop-up bars, trucks, vans and even bicycles – all serving up their specially created cocktails at just £5 for festival pass holders. Pop-ups will include Continental Cocktails with Grey Goose and Duck & Waffle and a journey through Japanese drinking culture at Shochu at ROKA.

3. Mixology to art: meet the creatives (Thursday 6 October)

As part of LCW, Broadgate’s mixologists will be talking visitors through their specially created drinks. Be inspired with take-home tips and gain valuable insights into the creative minds powering the world’s most vibrant cocktail scene. And, if that isn’t inspiration enough, we’ll be hosting a talk between British artist Ben Long and Head of Consultancy for the Contemporary Art Society, Fabienne Nicholas. As part of the event, you’ll be able to take in a special viewing of Ben’s exhibition at 201 Bishopsgate along with refreshments. You can secure your place at the event here.

4. Plan a Friday or Saturday night to remember (Friday 7 and Saturday 8 October)

Making things incredibly easy for those of you who want to try cocktails and their matching snacks is DrinkUp. London’s comprehensive Spitalfields’ tour. Listing 30 bars and restaurants across Broadgate and Spitalfields (from Gaucho to the Discount Suit Company), don't try to visit them all in one night!

5. Go on a Spanish odyssey (Sunday 9 October)

And to ease yourself out of LCW, Jose Pizarro is hosting its first-ever cava and croquetas party complete with live Spanish music from 2-5pm. In a specially devised menu, sample croquetas stuffed with white crab and basil or oxtail, apricot and peanut along with a chilled glass of Codorniu Anna Blanc de Blancs cava. And for the sweet-toothed, there’s even a Leche Frita (fried custard) croqueta. Then choose your final bar for a farewell toast to London Cocktail Week. See you again next year!
