7 ways to celebrate Chocolate Week

Running from Monday 10 to Sunday 16 October, Chocolate Week is all about celebrating the confectioner’s go-to in its many forms. And, as autumn has most definitely arrived, here is our pick of the chocolate-inspired essentials to bring comfort to your week.

1. Have a decadent hot chocolate at Aubaine

Kickstart your morning with a croissant and hot chocolate at the French restaurant. Just add an extra 20 minutes to your morning routine and the newspaper for a truly Parisian-style wake-up.

2. Show someone your love with Charbonnel et Walker

Whether you plump for the 150th-anniversary Peter Rabbit celebration box (there are only 1,000 in the world) or just a mini chocolate bar set, Charbonnel et Walker is the obvious destination this week.

3. Sweeten up your lunch break with Pret

Home to some of the best 3pm snacks known to the office, Pret’s does a fine line in chocolate hits. May we recommend the choc bar inspired by the old-fashioned 'fridge cake' made during childhood; crushed digestive biscuits, sultanas and golden syrup topped with chocolate and left to set.

4. Try a grown-up chocolate dessert courtesy of Jose Pizarro

Mixing deep dark chocolate with crunchy biscuits, sea salt and olive oil, this sweet is strictly not for the children. Complement it with a glass of Antique F de Castilla sherry. (Or try recreating your own using Jose’s recipe here from his cookbook, Basque).

5. Sip one of Gaucho’s chocolate-infused cocktails

Choose from the classic Rum Old Fashioned - a twist on the classic Old Fashioned, Green Island Spiced Rum, Apple Estate Signature Blend rum, stirred with chocolate bitters - or Cafe de Leche - Café Patron XO combined with Mr. Black coffee liqueur, Appleton Estate Rare Blend Rum, dulce de leche, mascarpone and espresso, finished with grated dark chocolate and orange zest.

6. Order a bespoke chocolate box at Yauatcha Patisserie

Yauatcha Patisserie has an incredible chocolate counter dedicated to seasonal ingredients. From caramelised honey and lavender ganache to salted caramel rolled in cocoa powder, these are some of the best chocolates on the planet.

7. Give a chocolate gift that will last at Links Of London

And finally, if you want to give an enduring present for a serious chocolate fan, look no further than the ingenious design of tiny 18kt yellow gold bourbon biscuit charm from Links Of London.
