Exchange Square sits at the heart of Broadgate. Now, we are beginning it's transformation into a park , a new oasis in the heart of the neighbourhood.
Home to the magnificent Broadgate Venus by Fernando Botero, Exchange Square will begin its transformation into one of London’s finest public parks this year.
Plans include an increase in landscaping, introduction of a beautiful cascading water feature, extensive planting and mature trees, as well as amphitheatre seating, new retail and event spaces. There will be much improved access routes and lighting throughout to ensure Exchange Square meets the needs of our customers and visitors throughout the year. We hope you’ll find the reinvigorated space the perfect place to relax and take a break from your busy day.
The main works will take place from Autumn 2020 to Winter 2021 so please be patient whilst although we aim to minimise disruption, changes to your usual route may be temporarily in place.
Works will be predominantly carried out during the hours of 8am-6pm, Monday to Friday. When necessary we may need to carry out night time, weekend or evening work.
As part of the works to update the area, you may have noticed a number of trees have now been removed. These will soon be replaced by a number of mature trees as part of the new landscaping and the schedule of their removal coincided with the end of the bird nesting season. We have also added extra bird boxes across the neighbourhood for our wildlife. The wood chips produced from the removal of the trees will be donated for use at schools or zoos as well as a large amount of the trunk sections distributed across the neighborhood to create bug habitats
