Inception Group, which operates a range of unique bars, restaurants and clubs across London, will open its first Mrs Fogg’s, part of the Mr Fogg’s Collection, at Broadgate in September 2018.
Inception Group, whose portfolio also includes Bunga Bunga, Cahoots, Barts and Maggie’s, has signed a 15 year lease for a 6,200 sq ft bar and restaurant over two floors in Broadgate Circle.
Mrs Fogg’s is an extension of the Mr Fogg’s Collection which currently comprises three unique bars across Mayfair and Covent Garden. Mrs Fogg’s, inspired by Aouda, wife of intrepid explorer Phileas Fogg of Jules Verne’s classic adventure novel, will make cultural references to India. The venue will house a Victorian cocktail bar serving light bites with an Indian twist. There will also be space for corporate hire and events.
Mrs Fogg’s will join a diverse range of food and beverage concepts at Broadgate including Yauatcha, Island Poke, Theatre Deli, Yolk and Franco Manca. Eataly, the Italian marketplace, recently confirmed that it has chosen to open its first UK location at Broadgate in 2020.
Claire Barber, Head of Central London Retail and Meadowhall, British Land, said: “Mrs Fogg’s will be yet another great addition to an already fantastic choice of bars and restaurants at Broadgate. The team at Inception Group has an excellent reputation for creating unique, fun places for people to eat and drink. Their decision to open at Broadgate shows how successfully the neighbourhood is establishing a reputation as a public arena for new food, retail and culture.”
Duncan Stirling, Inception Group founder, said: “We are thrilled to be opening our first bar in the City. Broadgate Circle is a buzzing and diverse hub right next to Liverpool Street station, which we feel fits with the ethos behind the Mr Fogg’s Collection perfectly.”
Broadgate’s appeal as an established location for financial and business service companies endures, however it is seeing increasing demand from tech, media and other growth sectors, all looking for a well-located and vibrant place to work and enjoy spending time.
Recent lettings at Broadgate include Japanese bank SMBCE, which will move into the newly redeveloped 100 Liverpool Street when it opens in 2019, and cyber security and data management company Mimecast at 1FA which is currently undergoing a major refurbishment. The neighbourhood is also home to Starling Bank, the first mobile-only challenger bank to launch a current account, and Innovate Finance, the UK membership association for the global FinTech community.

Broadgate is where innovation and finance play. It is the largest pedestrianised neighbourhood in Central London: a diverse community connecting innovation and finance, and a public arena for new food, retail and culture. Lying adjacent to the busy transport hub of Liverpool Street station and surrounded by Shoreditch, Spitalfields, Old Street and the City, Broadgate connects Europe’s capitals of investment and technology. Joint owners British Land and GIC are investing £1.5 billion in Broadgate’s evolution into a world class, mixed use destination for London. Their masterplan for Broadgate will deliver 4.9 million sq ft of new and redefined workplaces, retail and restaurants, bringing people together to work, shop, drink and dine. Broadgate’s rare collection of public spaces combines the community and feel of the historic piazza with the energy of modern London. These spaces play host to over 100 cultural events annually, providing a showcase for emerging ideas and talent.
